"I received the geography sheets in the mail yesterday. Thanks – I love them. In fact, they are already in sheet protectors in a notebook, ready for me to use." - Brooke Wise, California Homeschooling Mom

"Notebooking made simple and I am a big fan of notebooks. Hold That Thought has put together a disc full of printable geography worksheets that will take you on an unforgettable journey through the United States.
The disc is divided into sections and within the section are worksheets to print and use for an in-depth journey of the U.S. Section one on the disc includes: How to get started, a map to show where you live within the 50 states, U.S. time zones, state abbreviations and other information for kicking-off your study. It also includes contact information so you can send-away for travel packets and information for each state you decide to include in your study. You can also use resources from the local library and/or the internet.
Section two is full of information for each of the states in our nation. Each state contains 6 printable worksheets that include: a printable map with key cities; a worksheet with the state nickname, flag, bird, and flower; on another sheet you record annual rainfall, highest and lowest temperature, and the highest and lowest point; the next worksheet is for recording what region the state is located, natural resources and time zone; next is a timeline for recording significant historical events in the states history; the last sheet is for recording what you would see when you visited that state.
Also included are worksheets for learning about the entire nation. This includes: a U.S. national map, U.S. flag, the Pledge of Allegiance, National Symbols (bird & flower), symbolism on the Presidential Seal and much more! You will also find out about National Monuments such as the Statue of Liberty and the Liberty Bell. You will find-out where these monuments are found and in-depth information about that monument.
In section three your child will learn how to plan your perfect two-week vacation. Your child will plan the itinerary and map it out by drawing highways on their map. After the vacation planning, you can play a review game by finding out what is wrong on the map and/or naming the states and capitals. Included in this section are a list of geographical vocabulary words and a separate sheet for the student to record unknown words.
I was very impressed by the quality and content of this disc. Each sheet contains either a Scripture or poem that includes God along every step of the study. The interaction that we had while using this study was incredible! We discussed God’s hand in important events in state and national history. We had fun exploring each state and working with each of these beautifully laid out worksheets. Our U.S. notebooks are now full of interesting facts and fond memories of our study time together.

"5 Star Rating - The United States Geography CD by Hold that Thought is an excellent resource for students to record their research on the 50 states. They have produced CDs of worksheets to give students an easy method of recording what they learn to create notebooks on different topics. The U.S. Geography CD has 320 pages of activities about the 50 states. It begins with a section about where the student lives and an introduction and overview of the United States. The next section has information on each of the states - there are 6 pages for each state. The pages guide the students in learning about the symbols, the weather, natural resources, topography, and more. There are Bible verses and famous quotations on many pages. The last section has national information - American flag, Pledge of Allegiance, National Anthem and more. There is a review section and vocabulary words to learn. The information for filling out the pages can be found in the library, the encyclopedia or on the internet." - Beverly Hernandez Review – homeschooling.about.com
